The Sharp End DVD

In Climbing Media by Udo Neumann

THE SHARP END is Sender Films best yet, and has been wowing crowds across the country on the REEL ROCK Film Tour. The film is 65 minutes of mind-blowing adventure climbing footage, and feats that represent a new level of boldness:    •    Dean Potter achieving the first ever FREE SOLO with a BASE jumping parachute on The North Face of The Eiger    •    Lisa Rands sending Bishop test-pieces The Mandala (V12) and This Side of Paradise (V10 X) and taking wicked falls in the process.    •    Alex Honnold and crew pushing insane trad climbing in Eastern Europe, placing knots and slings for protection.    •    Ammon McNeely, „The El Cap Pirate,“ catching massive air on El Cap’s wildest aid lines    •    Steph Davis free soloing Pervertical Sanctuary on the Long’s Peak Diamond (5.11-, 1000 feet)    •    Matt Segal, Mike Patz, Hank Caylor and Matt Wilder firing 5.13 and 14 X-rated trad climbs in Boulder    •    Jonny Copp and Micah Dash searching for alpine glory in Chamonix, the Canadian Rockies and the Himalayas    •    Chris McNamara pushing the envelope of wingsuit BASE flying in the Italian Alps

The DVD extras are off the hook.
They include:
    •    A short film about Tommy Caldwell and Beth Rodden big wall free climbing in Yosemite, including El Cap’s  Free Muir (5.13+, 39 pitches) and Golden gate (5.13), and the Direct Northwest Face of Half Dome in a day (5.14, 22 pitches).
    •    A fun behind-the-making-of video about how we got some of the best shots in the film.
    •    Hilarious outtakes, bloopers and gaffes, including an extended version of Hank Caylor’s life on the sharp end.
    •    More climbing action then you can believe:  Adam Ondra sending 5.15 in the Czech republic, more trad 5.12/13 first ascents, Jonny Copp Ice climbing in the Black Canyon, 60-year old Bernd Arnold sketching on 5.12 knot climbing… and so much more.
